90% of the old nasty non-skid is now remove.
Have to reglass the 100 holes that in the deck - of course after it all drys out. Lucky it was some dense closed cell foam not not wood up there. looks to have been leaking for a long time.
Going to prime and paint using Alexseal - roll and tip
While arch is off, doing the deck.
Just finished filling all the holes and fairing some.
Now to replace the divinny cell that got wet and delaminated in that one spot
Well, powder coating is not an option. Metal is not "Fair" enough to powder coat. The coating experts said it would "look like crap" Needs to be painted. Has to have some fairing compound to fix the wavy lines.
So looks like I'll be painting it.
Arch is back in the yard on some stands, so should have some fairing / primer on it next day or so.
2 part epoxy chromate was sprayed on it, that stuff is rock hard.
All 200 holes welded closed
Cromated,
Burned through a lot of the cromate trying to get it fair
The white stuff is adtech (love this stuff)
Faired and started the AlexSeal primer phase.
First coat of primer on.
First coat of Alexseal Cream applied.
Turned out pretty good for roll and tip.
No orange peel / brush marks.
This just the first coat. Plan on putting at least 4.
It's a little wavy on top of the arch, but I was not putting that 200lbs of faring back on it
