boat wall material.webp

This is a picture of the wall (bulkhead) covering in my state rooms....this sagging material needs to be fixed or probably replaced. It appears to be a vinyl/paper covering that I assume was for sound reduction. Does anybody know what it is called and how to replace it or have any suggestions of what to replace it with?

Can't be certain but it looks like Whisper Wall. It comes in panels and would need to be replaced not repaired. Is that a Hatt? If so call SAMs with your hull id and they will tell you exactly what product was used.

This stuff feels like paper and when we first got the boat it was tight not saggy. This is a 501 Chris
Craft. Thanks I will look up whisper wall and see if Sams Marine has anything like it. Fortunately most of the parts I have needed ie: side board I have been able to get from Sams. I am thinking it might be easier to just put something up right over this saggy stuff so that I can maintain the sound dampening.

If it looks like that on the outside I would bet the insides are worse. Plus great strides have been taken in sound proofing recently. I would take a look at www.soundown.com and check on the exact replacement you need.

Thought it looked like a Chris. Not sure what they used but I would take it down not go over it. I think they used a vinyl wall covering that has a foam backing. Looks like the two layers have separated. This can happen if the humidity is regularly very high in the cabin. Seen plenty of Hatts that needed the Whisper Wall replaced because it was sagging.

Thanks Jack and Jim....I will contact Sam's today...I really appreciate the info.
