I don't have any Guam's on the safe boating coarse. I think its great. I think it should be mandatory for all operators. There is a lot of good info for the new boater that otherwise they would not read it on there own. But it should be given out free from the sate or government. That way It would be easier to Sue there butts when they screw up. They knew better. The water cops around here give out the BS type tickets and let the needed ones go. I feel sorry for you guys down south. You have all the tourist part time boaters. That's got to suck.

when there were only a few boats on the water there was no real need for alot of regs. now that our waters are flooded with all sizes of boats and pwc's i think some type of regulation is warranted.

There are so many people getting their first boat and have no clue other than you turn it on and steer it and there are no red lights or stop signs. I dont think there are as many boating accidents per capita as there are motor vehicle accidents but i believe they are on the rise. If anything, the guys out there that are unsafe make it an unpleasant day for those of us that are, we spend alot of time dodging them, unlike the coastie in the video.

I own a boating education company in CT. CT has the lowest death and accident rate in the country. this is due to the education that has been in place since 1992. We have now found that the kyackers are causing the problem in CT. overthe last few years the accident rate and death rate of this sector has gone way up, there is not safty class for kyackers and canouers. although most people dont use their horn it is part ofthe CFR's. Also if they are following the rules they should stay to the right of the channel and you should stay to your right. Red right returning of course. in this regard we have created a "road" just like our roads on land. So, we shouldn't have to give horn signals all the time because we will "in theory" pass clear of one another and no horn signals need to be givien.
