If anybody needs replacements for the ugly wire mesh vent covers this looks like they will work. Look nice and should not rust like the old ones.
3"ID and 3.75 OD. Good price!

Looks great and I may order a few myself, but I think accessing the old vents might be a problem. I think the vent hose is secured to the trim fitting and the whole assembly is then caulked in place.

Hmmmm..........maybe the new one can be done the same way and all from the head side without getting behind the cabinetry. Anyone done this?
 
Mine were held in by screws accessible once the mesh was removed. The ducting was secured with duct tape. I am going to try duct tape to secure the vent hose and then calk the assembly in place without the screws.
 
I just installed my new vent covers. They were held in with screws as described. Pull out the mesh and then you can access the two screws. I did not have any duct tape on mine. Then new covers just pushed into place and do not move. The hose goes over the smooth tabs and under the ribbed tabs. Here are some pics:

Don't buy them all out please! Just sent the link to the Admiral. She needs stocking stuffer ideas and hates when boat packages arrive on the front door step this close to Christmas (that she doesn't order)!

As I said before, I ordered 4 of them and my order has been confirmed. They did state on the ebay site that there were only 4 left, which is what I ordered but they probably have more. Your new site looks good also. How do you find these things?

Don't forget that there is also another vent grille in the galley for the exhaust grille on most Hatts. May as well do them all.

on my 58yf, the only galley vent i can find is made into the oven, i dont see a small round vent, or a switch for a blower. can someone confirm this? i want to order 3 vent covers for the heads, but, if i need 1 more for the galley, i will get 4. thanks, bigbill

Mine is under the cabinet which is over the range. The switch is
on the front frame of the cabinet. Yours may (probably is) be different but I know Hatteras had exhaust fans in the galleys on all their boats. My boat is a 1982 48' Series I MY.

I don't think the mesh is necessary. But if you wanted to add a piece, you could just push it in tightly from the back side, I suppose.

My vents all have a screen inside, probably for mosquito control. Originally stainless, but eventually got rusty. I got a square of screen wire from the hardware store which is either plastic or fiberglass. Soft and flexible. I just make a circle somewhat larger than the diameter, wrap it around the base of the vent and insert the vent and screen in the hole. My aft head blower is on 24/7 and collects a surprising amount of dirt. Needs washing about once a month. This way it is easy to get off without tools.
