Detroit Diesel Twin Turbo 6V92's HP

I am trying to figure out what the approximate horsepower is for our 6V92's. I know it also has to do with injector size so there are some variations. With that said what would the typical HP be for a twin turbo 6V92. They are in our 1981 43 SF.

DDC HP depends on injector, turbo, cam timing, air coolers and blower speed.
OR, give the serial number to a real Detroit shop and they can tell you.

Listen to Capt. Ralph. So many conversions and variations. Find out what your original configuration is and make sure all components match up. 2 6-92's with a 525HP rating can have different components. Take the advice and get a true 2 stroke DD guy to make sure you have the right stuff. Parts get changed over the years and may not be correct.

The 48MY had one of the lowest HP ratings at 450ish. My 53 has 465hp twin turbos. I would bet you're somewhere in that range.

Thanks for all of the great information. I will touch base with my DD tech and see what his thoughts are. It is not super important to me in the whole scheme of things. More so just curious. I sure do love the sound of the old DD 2 strokes! Take care!

My '79 43C has Covington marinized 6v92ta engines rated at 435hp. 9215 injectors.
