Can anyone give me an idea of what ballpark range I might be looking at for repair of 1 or 2 props?

Do they always need tuning or can you just get one fixed. I have vibration on my port side only and just wondering what the correct approach would be.

My other thought is find a spare set so I can do a quick change out.

I am assuming prop repair is a week, or a month wait time typically?

Thanks, I am in Michigan.

Last year we banged one of the props. Since I was down and out anyway, I decided to send both out and had them matched and balanced, etc. My bill was ~2k for 4 blade 24" x 24" in Conn.

Thank you, what kind of turn around time?

A good prop shop can do amazing things with damaged props. Usually takes about a week depending on how busy they are. Some shops usually charge a flat fee for basic reconditioning and then more for heavier work.

I wouldn’t get used props unless they ve been checked

Another source of vibration obviously could be the shafts. They should be tested by rotating them and measuring the end.

It was last summer and they were packed. took 2 weeks due to last summers backlog. I'd let the prop shop fix them, unless they tell you its time to get new wheels. And like Pascal said, its normally a week, and they can do amazing things.

good luck

Bob, I would say it depends on the time of the year and how busy they are in the area in question. I had to wait a couple months up leading up to this spring in Minnesota. Paid 1,750 to have 2 tuned/balanced. Since you are in Michigan Michigan Wheel might be a good option for you. Mark
