I used the Yeti while in Texas last year. Ice was still solid after 8 hours. The iglo was completely melted. West Marine is now carrying them.

I haven't used all these. I did buy a Yeti last year and it is amazing- it kept ice for two days in moderate weather. The insulation in the walls is about two inches thick, which means that for a given interior size, it is bigger than an Igloo etc. But it keeps ice cold for days at a time. Also it has rubber feet so it doesn't skid around on the deck or in my truck bed.

Sky, do you guys even need coolers up there? LOL

I've had a Yeti for a year now and best cooler ever. Keeps ice and the insulation and sealing is excellent.

We use them to keep things warm up here.

i have had a yeti for 5 years now, beer is still cold after 5 days in the south mississippi/ alabama heat. no ice left but the water and beer is still cold. the top is strong enough for the heaviest crew member to use as a seat without worries. i am 295 and sit on it regularly and it's still solid.

I'm calling BS on that one unless that's a walk-in Yeti. You kept the SAME beer in a cooler for 5 days?

The best cooler is one with cold beer in it.

Oh, you left the boat and the beer for 5 days. That explains why it lasted that long. :D

Not gonna happen any more. Now that I know where to get free beer.

That is why I am thinking of a Yeti tired of taking beer out on Sunday to put in refrig then reloading it on Thursday or Friday.
So Bill you top it off with Ice on Sunday.

Has anyone bought one of the Pelican coolers? I my reviews seems like another good one.

That was my exact reason for posting this question in the first place. I was wondering about the Pelican vs the Yeti. In my search, I came across some other brands that looked like they might compete as well.

Scott, if you are going to travel that far for free beer, you are welcome to it.
