Hello all!
Its been a very busy summer, between becoming a partner at my company, getting married.... Unfortunately I had to pull the plug on hitting the water this season (although I did keep my $3000 slip, son of a $#/*&@). Oh well, atleast I was able to put the center console on it. Anyways, the 34 is getting there, I decided to redo the bottom ( full stripping and barrier coat, etc...), also re doing all non skid, redoing salon rear wall and the list goes on. It is going in this coming spring for sure.

"I know my work hardly compares to some of the projects on here but I figured I would share anyways."

Nonsense.....of course it does!

I worked on my former 1972 48 Hatteras YF winters for five years and never did
the great work you have pictured. Bringing back these classic babies is a joy unto itself.
You should be rightly proud!!
BRAVO!!

I spent hours over multiple days just rubbing off black hand [or maybe engine room gunk] from teak stair handrails and some salon trim taking the finish to bare teak before recoating with teak oil. Not flashy by any standards, but every time I passed that new finish I felt good!

Been a while.... Here are some more progress pics.

Awesome! Keep it up, please. A lot of folks on the forum have a soft spot for the 34C.

DAN

Just a couple pictures of the paint, I used system three LPU two part water borne paint, sprayed through a gravity feed non-HVLP gun. I went with the clear coat over the color coat. I am currently wet sanding and buffing.

Your paint finish looks fantastic! Last fall I painted the deck of my 1966 41TC with Interlux. (I also partially painted my slip neighbor's boat, yikes!) It was exhausting, but very satisfying. Keep up the excellent work.

Oh yeah she is getting there guess you plan on getting her wet this year

Looking great BUT I am a beer snob so we would have to talk about your choice of beer :D

Keep the pictures coming and I have one question what material did you use for your counters and around the bowl?

Keeping going the light is getting bright.

If you're ever in Northern California and looking for work, look me up. Fantastic job.

Thanks for the compliments. I'm pretty happy with the overall outcome of the non-skid, it really gives it a "finished" look that ties it all together.
Dan, I agree with you on quality beer, I always keep some "company" beer on hand at the boat shed. I prefer long trail, magic hat, harpoon, Sam, ipswich, etc.... The tape I used for the corners and the bow is a 3m product, I will see if I can find the packaging. I got it from the local auto body supply (crown autobody) in Salem ma, they are great guys over there.

Jono, isn't it too cold in the NE to paint? Is your tent heated? Boat looks great and the kiwi grip really does make it.

Yeah it is a bit on the chilly side.... I have a propane convection heater with four wall mount fans circulating the air. It takes about 20lbs of propane a day when painting if it is 20-40 degrees outside, keeps the inside around 70-80. Lately it has been in seasonally warm though which has helped.

I too have been using lots of propane this winter until the past 2-3 weeks keeping it at 70 while working on it. What about the sweating inside? Back 15 years ago I built a building like yours and did a layer of clear plastic inside and out that worked out great with no sweating this year some days I would get dripped on :p

Glad to hear you also have GOOD beer if you were closer I would come over and help you on the boat!
Or just drink your beer ;)

Only get the condensation in some areas, the fans help a lot. I have clear plastic on the inside in the problem areas.

From earlier this year.... Doors!
