Yea, I could spend $30 and replace the bad burners - that would be the smart thing to do. But I've really been wanting to redo the galley counter and sink with corian. As long as I'm going that far, it makes sense to me to upgrade the stove as well. I do use the oven, so just dropping in a cooktop and making a cabinet out of the resultant hole won't do it.

I'm thinking about putting in this cooktop:

and maybe this oven:

I am familiar with Kenyon products, and have a good opinion of them, but I don't know much about the Verona products. I also still have to measure tomorrow to be sure it will fit.

I went with a glass cooktop with remote knobs and a sharp microwave/convection oven below. Left existing counters and fit Corian like a shoebox lid on top. Polished and undermounted existing stainless sink. Found a 24" stainless exhaust fan for over cooktop. Happy with results.

I haven't had good experiences with kenyon.

On the boat I run we have a three burner 220v glass top, works ok except one burner doesn't regulate well, but takes forever to boil water. I ve also had to of their electric grills. The first one with touch control lasted a few months and was replaced under warranty. I had them "downgrade" the replacement to regular control.. That lasted a little longer but again despite being 220v would take forever to heat and could barely sear meat

For the stove take a look at Ramblewood. They re made in th US using German glass. I put a two burner in the new galley on the hatt and love it. Heats up three times faster than the kenyon! $300 something on Amazon... MUCH cheaper than the keynon slow cooker

Never heard of that brand of oven you posted. For oven I a have a GE convection/micro/hood combo and really like it. Does just about everything a regular oven does except broiling although the convection broil mode comes pretty close for gratins and suff.

I'd highly recommend getting an induction cooktop. They will boil a big pot of water in less than a minute. The big reason I put one in my boat is because they don't get hot so they are much safer and don't beat up the boat. As for the oven I'll second the GE profile microwave convection combo. I had one on my last boat and used it all the time as an oven. We have a Panasonic now and not too thrilled with it.

I looked at induction but the electronic controls worried me, especially when on generator. Some electronics are very sensitive to frequency... I don't want to deal with the issues we re having with the dishwasher for instance

On my little ole 43C I am limited to the real estate beneath the cooktop for the oven, filling the princess hole - no room for a hood mounted system. I also have a good microwave elsewhere, so I want a basic oven that will fit 4 baked stuffed 3# lobsters. I am also limited to 120v. Does the Ramblewood cooktop you recommend come in 120?

I don't have any experience with induction. Sounds interesting however they are a bit ugly from what I've seen. What brand do you have Jack? Also, available in 120?

I went with a Miele glass cooktop. Its 220v, small for a 4 burner, and good quality. For the oven, its a GE profile micro/convection combo.

we replaced our electric cooktop with a 220V KitchenAid 30" 4 Element Induction Cooktop, Architect Series II Stainless Steel # KlCU509XSS....we just love it

I will have to look at the brand name on the cook top but we just replaced ours. 2 burner, works well and we have the GE profile convection/microwave. I baked a pie in it last night and I am no baker! All are 110. Get back to you.
