The blower motor on one of the Cruisair salon ac units in BUFFALO GAL is shot. Of course that particular Fasco motor is no longer available. Cruiseair does have a replacement blower unit, but it includes the squirrel cage and ductwork at a cost of about $700 plus installation. I don't need all that. Seems like rebuilding the current motor might be a better option. Does anyone have a recommendation for a shop that could rebuild this motor? Florida would be best, but actually any shop with a strong recommendation, regardless of location, would be fine. Thanks.

Bill, try Ken's Staters And Alternators 601 W 27th St B, Sanford, FL 32773. (407) 321-9267
Used him many times when we lived there for 18 years. Near your boat.

I have had luck finding the exact motor in unrelated blower units for a reasonable price. Tell us more about the motor. Which eavaporator and control do you have?

Thanks for the responses, George and Frank. The evaporator is an EBO 16C. The unit runs on SMX II. However, after taking the blower apart and looking at the spec label on the side of the motor, I decided to try googling it to see what a new motor would cost. Surprise! I found the identical Fasco blower assembly on line from several suppliers for around $200. The motor specs are exactly the same and the blower housing/squirrel cage dimensions are exactly the same. I doubt I could get the motor rebuilt for much less than that. The wiring is also the same and pretty simple, just three wires, white black and red. I should be able to put this unit back in myself. I can't see any reason not to just order this one, unless someone out there has had a bad experience with Fasco. Any thoughts?

Fasco makes the pump motors for marches small pumps too. Don't want time chasing pennies when it's 100 degrees out there.

Thanks George,

Mine's a little different. It's two speed. I did find it for about $200.

I agree about chasing the pennies. It's the hundred dolllar bills that are worth a little time to research.

I like my Benjamins too. I really like saving my Clevlands which I did on the recent fuel injector job.
