  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
58' MOTOR YACHT-Series I (1977 - 1980)
I have had an opportunity to compare the Teleflex TFXtreme 3300/33C and the Glendinning 33C cables side-by-side and there is no comparison. The difference is amazing. The Glendinning are far superior and they are sold by Sams.

Thanks for that, I believe my port tranny cable is stretched

Glendinning are indeed much better. Also very nice guys to deal with, product made in USA, and by a small company.

I ran some uFlex MachZero cables on my outboard boat recently as research showed lots of boat builders prefered them. I didn't know about Glendenning at the time, but I'm not sure they are made to be out in the weather.

With that said, the Glendenning cables appear to be less expensive than the high end models of other brands. I wonder if Glendenning makes the cable themselves?

Another brand (which I have on my boat from previous owner) is Cablecraft.

Short discussion here of various brands. I will remember Glendenning for the future. http://www.trawlerforum.com/forums/s32/shift-throttle-cable-dilemma-16174.html#

We replaced with Glendenning, nice cables

I think Glendinning do make their own. At least they used to. I like mine.

I had a Surveyor tell me that Volvo cables were the best on the market. He said that he saw them tie three complete knots in a 24 foot cable and pull it as tight as they could and then pulled on the end and it slid through like butter. I’m only passing this on, I’ve never seen it myself but it might be something to look into.

WARNING: I just got around to installing the 33C cables after they sat around for 10 months and learned they are the wrong diameter. My boat uses quarter inch cables which are 43C, not 33C. I’m ordering a new cable from Glendining tomorrow. The ninth cable, from the synchronizer to the port engine throttle is a 33C. Go figure!

I do have all the sizes for a 58MY and will post those after I get the installation done and make sure they all fit.

I meant to say I am ordering eight new cables tomorrow.
