For a 115 V option I would use a march pump like on an AC system. Most livewells I have seen would not handle 15-20 GPM by the way. Thats a lot of water. 1200 GPH if I still know how to do math. How big is the well?

Scott,
Not sure how big the well is, but I'd say 50-75 gallon tank. The a/c raw water pump puts out about 5 gpm. 12 vdc versions I've seen put out 800 to 1100 gph.
Maybe 20 gph is too much, I don't rightly know.

Thanks for your opinion

Justin

I run a washdown pump that does both the saltwater washdown and the livewell and it more than keeps up. Its not a huge one just the usual flowjet or whatever they usually use on the 12V. I still question the 115 volt as if I am not inside with the AC running there is no reason to run the genny.

I have a March AC pump for my live-well. I think it is one of the 500gph pumps. fills the well pretty quickly but not enough to overflow it. Plenty of water flow to keep your baits fresh. My boat needs AC for all the refrigeration so the generator is always running when away from the dock. If you can get away with a DC pump and don't need the generator, I would opt for that.

You got a model number on your March AC 115vac pump?
Specs too, if you got'em

Thanks
Justin

Not 100% sure but I'm pretty certain it's this one

2 weeks ago I had to replace a bilge pump switch right near that pump so I'm pretty sure that was the one I have. Same pump as the Eskimo Ice Chipper. I also had one of these for the AC on my 46C.

Thanks very much. I think this one will work.

Our live well pump has an adjustable flow regulator on it to allow the pump to run as needed. To adjust the turnover rate for the bait, the pump should fill you bait tank in 7-9 minutes. Your drain capacity obviously needs to be able to stay up with that...

kwerges,
Thanks for the input. quick question

Did you add the Adjustable Flow Regulator or did it come with your pump?

Sounds like a good thing to have.

Thanks
Justin

The flow regulator was added. Next time I'm down I'll check it for brand and model...

thanks kwerges

wondering what flow regulators are available.

TIA
