Nautical structures David question

I am bringing a 65 Pacific Mariner down the coast from Seattle to San Diego. We have been in some pretty nasty stuff and the Davis is swinging side to side about 2 feet. It has hydraulic swing and if we hit the button to pressurize the system it is ok for a few hours then starts swinging again. Tried to tie it down but due to location of dingy it is hard to get an angle on a tie down. Is there anyway to pin this at the pivot point or???

Davits with hydraulic rotation should be secured underway. We have an NS on the 84 Lazzara and it has no manual lock. On the Lazzara though the davit stores down in a cradle so it cant move

That said it shouldn’t move by two feet after a while. Since building pressure removes the play the problem isn’t with the locking bolt.

Agree w/Pascal, we had to rebuild our NS davit for leaking fluid. As for tie-down, we strap to the aft chock for the tender. I assume your set-up is the same as ours. FWIW, NS has terrible customer service.
