Oh yeah figure 1000 and up if it been a year or more!

Ask if they can vacuum seal the raft after inspection. This extended my inspection time to three years from annually.

Also, it's worth the time to watch them unpack/deploy and repack it, if they'll let you. Most will allow you to put "personal" stuff in there as well, if you keep it small (food, paper/pen, spare batteries, etc.).

Ive got a Switlick 6 pass offshore. I get it done by Datrex down in Mia. $750. I used to have a 10 man winslow when we fished the canyons in the northeast. When It came to the end of its service life I decided to blow it up to see if it would work. I belonged to a local pilot club and we decided to deploy it in one of the members pools and have everyone have a try at getting in it. Even in a pool a lot of the members had problems getting in the raft. It took one of us on each side of the person to get some of the older, and more obese people in the raft. Deploying the raft is one of those things we think about but can't realy practice.
I read a interesting article recently where the guys got in the raft but couldnt read the directions on activating their PLB's because they lost their glasses. Never thought about that being a problem.

Picked up a 8 person Givens Buoy canister at Dania fleamarket this March. It hadn't been in use for 15 years (the price was right) . I had Inflatable Services in Lauderdale recert it (and paint it to match) . It was Pricey, but all inflated and recertified just fine. Happy with the service. They p/u and deliver as well. Get a quote first.
