  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' MOTOR YACHT (1984 - 1987)
Does anyone have the paint code for the Imron on a '85 MY? Sam's is closed today.

Thank you Sir! I called the paint store and the "u" has been changed to "x" but it is the same formula.

Thanks Again!

Are you sure your boat has the original paint? And if so, it hasn't faded ate all in 25 years? Many industrial / automotive paint suppliers, such as the national Finishmasters chain, will come out with a "camera" and then make up an Imron blend that will match what is actually on there. I learned this the hard way, then the easy way. I can show you a spot on my boat done with 6997x/u that sticks out to the most casual viewer. There are spots on the boat where you will not notice they have been done unless I point you to it.

Hull Paint: Imron (DuPont) 67766U (old formula). If paint has faded lighter, can match by using 67766X polyurethane enamel white (the lightest of the 3 possible colors) and making the following adjustment:
531U …. 4.9 grams
555U……110.0 grams

Great post carolina coast. I just got back to the boat and of course you're right, 67766x it is. Got a patch of it on my now bleached hull that is going to have to be redone.

The previous owner repainted our 1979 Hatteras LRC with the original off-white about 7 years ago and we are trying to match it for touch-ups. Would that be the Imron 67766x?

Thanks

The only thing I've found effective is to have a paint distributor (such as Finishmasters) come out and put a "camera" on it, then they'll mix along the lines carolinacoast outlined. Or, a very skilled yard can eyeball it. Helps if the boat is freshly buffed too. I have learned this the hard way..
