  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
43' DOUBLE CABIN (1970 - 1984)
Wondering if anybody has found a good (large) frying pan for the 120V Princess 3 Burner Stove and Oven? Bob's post selling his inspired me to ask because I'm sure we all have the same problem - only small pots fit on a burner given their close proximity to the edge. I've been thinking of making a new sheet metal top with only 2 burners slightly offset near the center so I can get larger frying pan and/or Pot to fit properly. But maybe somebody in this group has come up with better idea? If so, please share. Thank you and hope everybody is having an excellent boating season - Scott.

i use a countertop fryer when i need more area than the small stove can fit

It depends on what you want to do. Sometimes on charter (84’ MY) we have it cook for as many as 12...15 people or more. Guests plus crew plus whatever .. I rely a lot on An electric skillet because the heat is even over a large surface. Makes it much easier. Another option is a quality cast iron skillet because of how it heats up.

Perhaps electric skillet it is. The galley is pretty small on a 43DC and storage a bit of an issue, but imagine they come in shapes and sizes these days. Thank You

I went with an Induction Cooktop, and gives me a place for Pizza Oven, Rotisserie, Microwave, or whatever else as needed.

Be judicious cleaning that cooktop. I used glass cooktop cleaner on mine recently. Surprising how fast I got other there and grabbed that pan of French fries skating toward the carpeted steps. Definitely contraindicated in a seaway.

Problem with induction on a boat is that the electronics are very sensitive to frequency. No problem on shore power but when on gen it takes very little for freq to vary by just 1 Hz...

Always with the negative waves.
