I just got home from the Miami Boat Show, and saw my new 12.5kw Norpro on display there. They built it using a Stamford Newage end rather than the Marathon end that was quoted.

Which is better? What is/are the benefits of one over the other?

Not being familiar with this kind of thing, should I be concerned not having a Marathon end or is it not an issue?

I think you should get what you ordered. If I buy something I want the item I pay for and if I sell something I sell what I was asked for.

I would see why they made the switch before I agree to anything.

We've always had good luck with Marathons. I don't really know anything about the SN.

In the PNW Stamford is excellent,,quality stuff.

I'll make a couple of calls in the morning. The company's owner was supposedly there, and waiting for me to return from the brokerage show. When i got to the booth, it was shut down for the night...an hour before the show closed.

My 12.5 Kw Phasor came with a Stamford generator. It, and its attached Kubota engine have worked flawlessly for about five years or so now. The generator is made in England. I was impressed by the thoughtful selection of parts for Phasors when I was selecting my new replacement. Spent a long time discussing their generators at a boat show back then. I don't think you have to worry about Stamford's quality.

Manufactures often put a clause in they're contracts giving them the right to substitute for and diffrent brand of equal quality. We've been using Stamford Newage for 20 or more years. I'm not sure why it's just always been that way. I've seen nothing but the normal problems you see on all makes. Some are pushing 20,000 hours I wouldn't worry about it.
