It's going down to the upper 30s tonight and reminded me that last winter it was really cold in the captain's quarters because the small vent built into the top of the escape hatch does not seal well at all. Eventually I planned to replace the whole thing with a good looking Bomar hatch to let in more light, but for now I was thinking about filling the little vent with spray foam. I guess the purpose of the little vent is to get some ventilation even in the rain, but we never used the little vent anyway and we are in a covered slip most of the time. Any other ideas?
