Detroit Diesel Specifications

I have two old Detroit diesel marine engines installed in a 1969 Hatteras 34 Convertible. They are model: 5062-3000 serial 6D146967 and 5062-7000 serial 6D145932.

I have no idea the displacement, horsepower or any other technical specifications. Where can I find such information? I already asked the Detroit Diesel company without luck.

How many cylinders? V or inline? If you can post some pictures or describe these better, I would bet someone here can identify them.

I believe both the engines are 6V53 Detroit Diesels. Unfortunately I don't have any pictures and the boat is currently in PR.

They are 6V53s according to several websites using the model number (5062-3000) as a search. Here's one of them:

They're counter-rotating 6V53s.

You need to call a Detroit Dealer with the serial numbers to get the rest. Try Saunders in Panama City - give them those numbers and they should be able to tell you the original factory configuration.
