I went down to check the boat after a bad Nor'easter. Sure enough, one of my dock fenders had rubbed off about a 36" section of my boot stripe. I am not sure whether the boot stripe is tape or paint but I think it must be paint since in the area affected, I have several discharge holes and they are the same color as the boot stripe. The boot stripe is a 6" black stripe just above the waterline. Is there special paint to use for repairing this or is there 6" tape used? I will wait until the Spring to have it done but I would like to know what the best solution is. I also moved the fender (fixed to the dock in a horizontal fashion) to hopefully avoid this happening again. I may eliminate all dock fenders and use hanging balls from the boat to prevent this. The slip is tight and I guess this is sort of inevitable but I would like to avoid it in the future. Kind of surprised to see from a regular taylor made big b fender as this as it took place over a weekend.
