Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
I am looking to move up to a 53' or 58' hatteras motoryacht or 58' yachtfish.
I would like trade (+cash difference) my 1978 Albin dual cabin Trawler.
120Hp Lehman (2100hrs), 7.5K Onan Gen,Bow thruster, bottom peeled and redone 5 years ago. New A/C in aft cabin.

I do not want to be a two boat owner. The boat is located in Southern Maryland. Let me know if you would like additional pics or details.

Hello Jason, Take a look on YachtWorld at a Hatteras 52' Cockpit MY 1991 located in Ft. Lauderdale, priced at $199,000. I know that's not the model you're looking for, but the trade situation might work. It's worth a look.

Thanks Eric, That's a nice boat. I will email them and see if they are interested. I have always liked the "classic" hatteras yachts wood interior but that looks like a very comfortable boat with a good layout.
Bringing that boat up from Fl would be a fun trip but getting the Albin to Fl at 7.5kts would be a three week trip. It would easily make it but you better have some vacation saved up.

asking for a friend...

where have you listed your albin and what are you asking?

thanks,

steve

I have not officially listed it yet. I thought I might find someone looking to move down in size and fuel bill and solve both our boat hunting problems. I am installing some new equipment, (new a/c in master and fish finder on bridge) and refinishing the teak parquet floor in salon. Then I will take some pictures and list it. The boat was surveyed at $75K a few years ago, but with the boat market the way it is and I want to move up this summer I will ask $60K. In the last few years the bottom was stripped and vinylestered, teak decking removed and decks reglassed, windows rebedded, hatches replaced, 3000w inverter, bow thruster added. Its a nice little trawler with 2100hrs on the 120Hp diesel and at 3gph at 7knots its very cheap to run. I am looking for a bigger liveaboard motoryacht or trawler with a little more speed so that I can get around the Chesapeake bay on the weekends.

Hi Jason,
I have been looking for a clean trawler and yours looks great.
Do you have any others photos? I don't have a trade but I would love to see it and make an offer. do you have a recent survey? Where are you located?
Thanks
Glen

Truly most members with commercial interests have kept them separated. Some may have mentioned their services in passing or offered them to other owners but the tone of it has always been professional. As a broker myself I restrain from commingling business and pleasure.

Gentlemen:

I've decided to delete the second of the two posts by Eric, and also Surfshark's post. Two points I want to make:

1) this forum is frequented by yacht enthusiasts and also brokers. Some yacht enthusiasts are also brokers themselves. If you are both a boating enthusiast and a broker, and you want to contact a forum member for commercial purposes, do it offline, or put up a post telling the other member they have a PM. Anything else can be construed as advertising- including pointing out that a boat is sold.

2) if you have a problem with something that another forum member has put up, address it to either myself, Genesis, Pascal, or Doug. Don't publicly chastise other forum members. Deciding what is appropriate behavior on this forum is a job that we take very seriously and try to do as well as we are able. However, it is our job.

"I was just following orders..." from a trial in Jeruselum 1962. Thats from Vasil Rasmussen on a poor yacht design where 20 displaced europeans drowned when the boat sank from a bulkhead collapse. Shoulda bought a Hatteras...

Have a 1970 45C "Sea Quest" - she is on Yachtworld with open listings. Located in Ft. Pierce FL. I am asking $89,000 cash by owner. My Mom and I cruise together and she favors trawlers!

email: schube_@bellsouth.net call me 772-696-0352.

website: hatteras45c.com

"Sea Quest" has been on the market for awhile - out of water now - but she is in great shape 10/09 survey at $110,000 - problem is getting the customers to come look - think location has a bit to do with it - just keep hearing market is slow from brokers
