This is a little off topic here but my father is selling his Egg Harbor. He is trying to find a Good home for her. He is the second owner for over 30 years. Located in Montauk NY. asking 19,000 with paid slip for the summer. Pictures and more info located in the Egg Harbor owners association website @ www.eggharborowners.org in the boats for sale section, fourth add from the top in the 1950's & 1960's column. Thanks.

P.S. I own a 1976 36 Hatteras, and will probably have that for 30 years.

1966 Egg

I've been looking for one of these to add to my commercial collection down here. My friend NEMO is looking for a new shelter 4 mi. off Montauk.

66 Egg

Didn't your mother tell you if you have nothing smart to say then don't say anything at all.

note above

My second boat was an wooden 37 Egg Harbor sedan. It was a beautifully made, surprisingly quick, comfortable boat. It is still running around in Norfolk someplace. I agree that an Egg, wooden or otherwise, is not as sturday a boat as a Hatteras, but then again there are very few boats as sturdy as a Hatteras. The Egg had a number of virtues, among which was a mahogany interior that was as good as any I have ever seen on any production boat, and better than quite a few customs. If I were looking for a wooden boat again, I would look at an Egg or a Matthews first of any.
I didn't like the above post. I think if you want to make stupid and mean-spirited comments you ought to find the kind of forum where people tear down other people's boats. And, comments about boats sinking aren't funny. I've had acquaintances die in situations like that and I don't appreciate the humor in it.

Thanks.

It's funny how many people you run into that have owned one of these boats. Thank you for your reply.
