  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
63' MOTOR YACHT (1985 - 1987)
Having our MY hull painted (sprayed). Current paint is Awlgrip Matterhorn White and many years old.
So thin in places you can see the original Hatteras White showing. Our yard will paint in Awlgrip or
Awlcraft 3000. I’ve read the +/- of the 3000. Yard recommends as it’s repairable. I’ll admit I have
never had to have a large area repaired, but have touched up scratches and nicks
by brushing Awlgrip. The literature indicates 3000 product is spray only.

Thinking of with Awlgrip so I can retain my touch-up capability and I’m wary of a new to market
product. FYI, house and decks are AWLGRIP.
ANY thoughts or real world experience with Awlcraft 3000?

Very interested if you get REAL users of the product to respond with results. I’m leaning toward something that’s repairable personally. Still playing with the Alexseal with the brush and tip additive. Is very easy to use with OUTSTANDING results but have yet to need a repair.

Imron Elite is repairable.

I've had Awlcraft 300 Matterhorn White on our 41 since 2009. It is definably repairable and can be polished periodically if needed. I had Awlgrip Matterhorn White on her for the previous 10 years. I'm much happier with the Awlcraft.

3000 - not 300

Awlcraft is a touch easer to paint with. (just a touch) and repairable. It's crazy how finicky Awlgrip is.

I am painting Awlcraft 1/3 of the boat a year. Just the hull left!
It's all about the prep!

I just had some scratches and gouges repaired and paint with Imron. Fabulous finish. You can’t even tell where the repair started and ended.
