  1. OWNER - I own a Hatteras Yacht
Hatteras Model
Not Currently A Hatteras Owner
I got my davit cylinder all rebuilt. Repainted the davit. Now the motor is not working. At first I could hear relay clicks when I pushed the pendant buttons. Then the relay clicks stopped also. I jumpered the wires on the pendant so I am pretty sure it is not the pendant. I partially pulled out the relay box and noticed that it is a sealed box. Can this box be opened? Does anyone know where I can get another box and not pay Marquipt prices?

Google the info on the relay, if no info have a look in the Grainger's catalogue. It's not likely Marquipt made it.

This sealed black box has a couple of relays in it. Looks like it can't be opened. Is is about 3"x3"x10"

Having the exact same problem. If you find a source please post it.

Thanks,

RoundIII

Did you verify if you have power?

I know that there is power to the unit. The power cord goes into the black box. Can't test anything after that.

The source is marquip and it's expensive.

Here is the part number.

BTW, this is for the fully Hydraulic 1500 tenderlift

Try UMT in Ft Lauderdale, 954-316-0353 My motor went out and then the gears. Took everything off the davit and took it to them. They had the replacement stuff. Went back, installed, works better than it did before. Good people.

Thanks guys. Well I did find one problem. One of the wires from the pendant socket to the Low Voltage Controller (black box) had a small pinhole in it and had corroded from the inside. I fixed the wires and got the clicking noises back. The motor still does not turn on. The problem is either the motor relay (LVC), the motor, or the start capacitor. One of the 3 set screws that hold the motor in has a stripped socket head. I guess I will have to drill that out. I could cut the wire from the LVC to the motor to test for power. That way I wouldn't have to take motor out and I could eliminate the LVC.

I got the motor loose and tested for power at the motor and nothing. I am pretty sure it is the LVC. So now I am looking for a LVC. 110v, 4 function. UMT is checking if they have one. Does anyone else know where there might be some stock? New or used?

Yeah have Fun with Marquipt ! I would never opt to have their stuff on my boat again . Of course I never had a choice in the matter .

It was the LVC. I bought a new one from Marquipt. Installed Friday. Remove and replace took about an hour. Works perfectly.
